The Ohio State University

Ohio State 1981-1982

One of OSU’s greatest gifts to me is an undying love and affinity for Ohio State football. For this I am grateful. As far as classes went I found them hard and a lot of work. Having just had a taste of adult life, doing homework was just not that important to me and my grades headed south. By the end of my freshman year they were so bad that my father said he wouldn’t pay for me if I didn’t get a 3.0. I returned and manage to pull it off in the fall of my sophomore year. Then I bought a motorcycle, a brand new but 2 year old Honda CB650. They were Honda’s lightest inline 4 cylinder and it moved. I loved riding it so much that I stopped going to class just to ride. I proceeded to get a D-E-D on my report card and my father cut the strings. Luckily I had been working in restaurants since I was 13 so I found a job right away and started working again. I took another 18 gap years.
